Centerton residents in northwest Arkansas are very family orientated as the majority of the population is made up of this demographic so if you have moved to the area or are visiting as a tourist then you will find lots of things in the area to do that will suit both kids and their parents. One of the most popular summer attractions has to be the Crystal Falls Water Park which offers a perfect alternative to the state’s hot, humid summer climate and a guaranteed fun day out for all ages.
Situated neat the Hot Springs area, this fantastic water park at Crystal Falls includes some great water features for kids of all ages that include the includes the Arkansas Ocean which is a 350,000 gallon wave pool and many other attractions. There are four water slides such as the Boogie Blast, Rapid Falls Raceway, Seven Falls Slide Tower and High Sierra Slide Tower, each with differing degrees of difficulty so the park has some very specific health and safety regulations that are strictly adhered. Minimum height restrictions apply on all of the water slides although these vary slightly depending on the challenge involved however for all the attractions aimed at thrill seekers, strong swimming skills are essential as deep water may often be encountered so some strenuous physical activity will be involved in negotiating many of these features. Smaller children are also accommodated for with the likes of the Bear Cub Bend and the Grizzly Creek Splash Zone while the Kodiak Canyon Adventure involves a ride along the lazy river that the whole family can enjoy together. Splash Island is a new multi-million dollar feature planned for the park which is a new family play structure that sees a thousand gallons of water dumped on it and drenching participants every ten minutes throughout the summer season.
The neighboring Magic Springs Theme Park offers another exciting and fun-filled adventure that the whole family can enjoy with a mix of thrill rides, family rides and kiddies rides. Among those that are definitely not for the fain hearted are rollercoaster rides like Coaster X which ascends vertically to a peak of 150-feet mid-air before doing a slow quarter backwards loop that leaves participants dangling high above the park before it takes a 360-degree corkscrew roll then plummets in a fall at over 65 mph. Another of the park’s favorite roller coasters is The Gauntlet which has been a popular attraction for around a decade now and this involves a 110-foot drop into a spinning mass of five inverted loops and inconceivable bends all taken at incredible speeds all while you are suspended under the coaster’s tracks! In addition, there are twenty five other rides you may also want to try including those that are more suited to younger children. However if your nerves can stand it there are several other thrill rides available for teens and adults including the 3,500-foot Arkansas Twister , Dr Dean’s Rocket Machine, the Twist ‘n’ Shout zig-zag coaster or Big Bad John’s Runaway rollercoaster.
